Hello, neighbours! Long time no talk! We hope you are all enjoying the relative peace and quiet (at the municipal level, at least....)
We're writing to let you know that there are some
which we hope you can attend.
The importance of engagement at this stage, from folks who want to keep North Saanich as the rural, agricultural and ecological haven that it is, cannot be overstated.
Public participation in our wonderful community tends to be a bit of a sleeping dragon but, in order to save us all having to roll out the whole fire-breathing monster thing down the road, we urge you to set your alarm clocks for the following dates.
All are drop-in events, and all are at Municipal Hall.
TONIGHT! From 5 to 8 PM:
Open house on "Agriculture and Food Security"
April 24, from 5 to 8 PM:
Open House on "Sustainability, Climate Change and Ecology"
May 8, from 5 to 8 PM:
Open House on "Rural Character, Sense of Place & Housing and Affordability"
May 14, from 5 to 8 PM:
Open house on "Marine and Waterways"
The May 8 event is highlighted because, as we know, densification is an issue which has inevitable, profound, and generally irreversible impacts on agriculture, sustainability, ecology, and marine and waterway protection. (More on this in the coming weeks.)
